During the height of the two-stroke era in 1984, Mitch Payton built a special one-off Husqvarna four-stroke race bike. He hand-picked a young 250 Pro named Troy Lee to ride it for his Pro Circuit team. The most famous riders on the Pro Circuit team back in the early days were Jeff Jennings, David Gerig, Tommy Croft, Tony DiStefano, Troy Lee and Andy Jefferson.
