HI-POINT TIRES INNOVATIVE NEW TUBELESS SYSTEM

The MXA wrecking has a set of Hi-Point tubeless tires to test, but these are not just any tubeless tires. These tires have the tube, or what passes as the tube, bonded directly into the inner carcass of the tire. The tire and the air chamber are one-piece. The tube isn’t a regular butyl rubber tube, but a stronger multi-ply layer. This allows the tire to be mounted in the normal manner, once you fish the valve stem through the rim (since you cannot get under it with your hand to feed it through the stem hole. Hi-Point includes a string on the valve core that you feed through the rim to aid in making it come out correctly. We will begin testing the Hi-Point Internal Tubeless Tires (ITT) soon. DENMARK TO ALLOW 250 TWO-STROKES IN 250 DANISH NATIONALS

The Danish Motorsport Federation (DMU) has decided to let 250cc four-strokes and 250cc two-strokes compete on equal terms in the 2017Danish Nationals. This change will effect all classes from rookie to elite. Denmark has previous been first country to reintroduce the 125cc two-stroke class as a junior class—which was later picked up for the EMX series. Canada and Australia also allow 250 two-strokes in their 250 Championships, although they place limits on modification to the two-strokes and, in the Canadian series, only Canadians can race 250 two-strokes—no Americans.

GREAT BRITAIN TO INSTITUTE TWO-STROKE NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP

The ACU, Abbott to the AMA’s Costello, confirmed that they will implement a two-stroke class in the 2017 British Nationals. The class, which will be open to all two-stroke machines, will be a full British series and run four of the eight British Nationals Championships rounds. Those race will be at Canada Heights, Hawkstone Park, Blaxhall and Foxhill.

2017 CANADIAN NATIONALS RACE SCHEDULE

Private investment firm Spanos Barber Jesse & Co.has invested in Troy Lee Designs. Troy Lee has retained a significant ownership stake in the company and continues to lead TLD’s design efforts. In addition, TLD has named Dave Bertram as Chief Executive Officer. Dave previously served the CEO at Cycle Gear. Under his leadership, Cycle Gear grew from a local retailer with three locations to a national chain with 112 stores in 34 states.
