MXA RAPID RACE RESULTS: CAIROLI WINS, BUT NAGL MATCHES HIM

tcspsinsTony Cairoli won in Spain on a 450SXF, but he didn’t gain any points in the Championship. It was his first GP win of 2015.

Husqvarna’s Max Nagl may not get credit for winning the Spanish GP in Talavera de la Reina, Spain. but he split motos wins and thirds with Tony Cairoli to not lose any points. Nagl continues to lead the 450 World Championship standings with 12 points over Clement Desalle and 30 points on Tony Cairoli. Of interest was that Cairoli eschewed his normal KTM 350SXF and moved to a 450SXF for Spain. There were only 25 riders in the 450 class at Talavera.

naglspain15Max Nagl continues to surprise a lot of people — including the team managers that fired him at KTM and Honda. Nagl has put Husqvarna back on the motocross map.

Standing Construct Yamaha’s Valentin Guillod won his first-ever 250 Grand Prix after Jeffrey Herlings was “swapped and tossed” in the second moto. Herlings got up in 20th (there weren’t many more riders than that in the race) and came back to 7th for second.

paulinspain15Gautier Paulin totally dominated the last 450 GP in Valkenswaard, but wasn’t a player in Spain (and wasn’t even the first Honda).
