MXA RAPID RESULTS: VILLOPOTO WINS THAI QUALIFER BY 34 SECONDS

villoptothailandcrateRyan Villopoto came late to Thailand. Qualifying races in the GPs are just for start gate pick.

On a pancake flat track that was a pitiful 1 minute, 35 seconds around, Ryan Villopoto dominated the 450 qualifying heat at the Grand Prix of Thailand. Ryan holeshot and pulled away to a 34-seconds lead over Clement Desalle. Gautier Paulin came home in third position in front of Max Nagl and Ken de Dycker. Antonio Cairoli took a poor start and had to come back from outside of the top 15 to finish eighth.

In the 250 class Jeffrey Herlings won the qualifier, which is just for gate pick for the GP. There were 34 riders signed up for the 250 class inThailand — they filled up most of the spots from 24th on back withg local Thai riders — mixed in with the occasional Chinese rider and fallers (like Aleksandr Tonkov).

thaitrackmassimoIs this the best GPs have to offer? They have world class riders and corn field race tracks. The lap times were painfully short and the flat horizon was endless.
