WHAT STANDS OUT? Here’s a list of things that stand out with the Moose Racing M1 gear.

(1) Jersey. The Moose Racing M1 jersey is simple. It is made of semi-ventilated polyester, which is stretchy and resilient. The M1 jersey has a generous fit, so it will accommodate riders of all shapes and sizes. Both the V-neck collar design and arm cuffs are comfortable and non-restrictive. The raglan-style sleeves make for good comfort and mobility. The jersey has a tail that extends at its longest point about 3-1/2 inches to keep the jersey tucked into the pants.

(2) Pant. The chassis of the Moose M1 pant is made with a mix of high-denier nylon and polyester that has double- and triple-stitched seams. All the graphics are in-mold, which reduces weight and increases mobility. The pant legs are pre-bent for comfort when in the riding position. The cuffs of the pants have two panels of elastic for ease of access. The M1 pant comes with a Velcro sans-a-belt strap on the waistband of both hips that allows about 2 inches of adjustment on both sides. Our size-32 M1 pants fit riders with 30- to 34-inch waists comfortably. At the hips and rear of the pants are elastic bands that provide a skosh more give. The inside liner of the pants is 3/4-length and made with a fine, soft mesh material. The cow-hide leather knee patches are a generous 10 inches long and 6 inches wide.

(3) Fit. The overall fit of the Moose M1 gear is comfortable. With all the stretch material on both the pant and jersey, they both fit just about any shape and size rider well.

(4) Performance. Our testers liked many of the features of the M1 gear. The inner pant liner was a big hit, as most other liners are not as soft and supportive. The durability and range of motion are top-notch. For our skinny riders, the jersey sleeves were a bit on the baggy side, and we had a small issue with our fast riders on super-grippy seats. When sitting down under acceleration, the M1 pants would sometimes come down a bit. It’s best to cinch those sans-a-belt straps as tight as possible.

(5) Options. The Moose Racing M1 gear comes in eight different colors. The jersey comes in small to triple extra-large sizes. The M1 pant is available in sizes from 28- to 42-inch waists.

WHAT’S THE SQUAWK? Our quibbles are very minor. We’d like the sleeves to be tailored a little tighter and the elastic in the waistband to be a little stronger—that way the seat won’t make the pants slide down.

4-STARS
The Moose M1 gear fits the widest range of sizes we have ever seen. It is perfect for riders about to start a diet or planning to pig out over the holidays.
