MXA VIDEO: WE TEST THE 2022 GASGAS MC 450F

The GasGas MC 450F is back for it’s second season under the KTM umbrella and the 2022 model is exactly the same as the 2021 bike that we’ve been riding and racing on for the last year. In this video, we talk about KTM’s goal for making the GasGas MC 450F a viable option for racers looking to buy a great motorcycle, while also hitting a targeted price point that is able to compete with Honda, Yamaha and Kawasaki. At $9599, the GasGas is $700 below the KTM 450SXF and $800 below the Husky FC450. It retails for the same price as the Honda CRF450, Yamaha YZ450F and Kawasaki KX450. The Suzuki RM-Z450 does still get to claim the “most affordable bike in the class” award though at $8999 retail.

With different suspension settings, forged aluminum triple clamps, a closed off airbox cover, a different muffler, different plastics, Maxxis MX-ST tires and no map switch, the GasGas MC 450F is certainly different from KTM and Husky, but it’s not far off. With the same frame, engine and suspension components, the GasGas still has many of the same characteristics of the KTM.
