rulesprotestsAny rider can protest another rider for anything form cutting the course to dangerous riding to an over-bore engine. All he needs to do is pay the AMA $800. Of course, you can’t protest any thing the AMA did.

Back in the 1970’s AMA Pro Gary Ogden was stripped of an AMA Support class win at an AMA National when he stopped 50 feet before the finish line to pick up his mechanic so they could get the checkered flag together. The second place rider protested Ogden under “endangering a fellow competitor or spectator” rule.  Ogden was disqualified and the other rider got the win—he must be very proud.
