NO SURPRISE! JGR TO BECOME THE OFFICIAL FACTORY SUZUKI TEAM IN 2018

JGRteam

A week after dumping the RCH team, Suzuki has announced, to no one’s surprise, that Joe Gibb’s Autotrader/Yoshimura/Suzuki team will take over in both the 450 and 250 classes next year. JGR joined with Suzuki late last year after a falling out with Yamaha—but only got a one-year deal because of how late they made the switch from blue to yellow. Now, JGR has been elevated to the primary Suzuki factory team. The RCH team, that was successful in 2016 with Ken Roczen, is gone after the AMA National end.  The core reason for RCH disappearing is that they had very limited outside sponsorship for their Broc Tickle and Justin Bogle effort. Without outside money coming in, it was impossible for RCH to continue.

JGR’s structure will have two 250 riders (on each coast) and two 450 riders. Coy Gibbs will stay at the top of the hierarchy, while team manager Jeremy Albrecht will lead the effort. The team riders for the team have not been announced.
