OCT 28–PRIVATEER TESTS DAYS

OCT 28–PRIVATEER TESTS DAYS AVAILABLE AT FOUR THQ WORLD SUPERCROSS GP/AMA SUPERCROSS SERIES RACES IN 2004

EIDTOR’S NOTE:

Why is Clear Channel doing this? It’s no secret that privateers have no real Supercross tracks to ride on to prepare for the 2004 or any Supercross season. It is nice of Clear Channel to give privateers the opportunity to test and practice on these four tracks, but we’ve never seen a Supercross track completed by early Thursday afternoon before a race. We sure hope that Clear Channel can pull it off, because the gap between the factory guys and the privateers has gotten huge in the recent past.

AURORA, Ill. (October 28, 2003) – Clear Channel Entertainment’s Motor Sports division announced today that there will be four privateer test days for the 2004 THQ World Supercross GP/AMA Supercross Series. Each privateer test day will be held on the Thursday prior to the race at 2:00 p.m. and is available to any AMA pro-licensed privateer competing in that event.

ú February 12, Houston, Reliant Stadium (East)
ú March 11, St. Louis, Edward Jones Dome (East)

“Unlike the factory riders, the privateer sector does not have the luxury of practicing on an official supercross test track each week,” said Todd Jendro, director of supercross, Clear Channel Entertainment – Motor Sports. “This program is designed to help the privateers get more practice time and hone their skills on an official Dirt Wurx-built supercross track.”
