RJ HAMPSHIRE OUT FOR 2023 INDIANAPOLIS SUPERCROSS

Minutes before the fireworks go off at the 2023 Indianapolis Supercross, RJ Hampshire shared that he has decided to sit out the night show. RJ rode the free practice and two qualifying sessions today on the rutted and technical Indy SX track, scoring the 15th best qualifying time and a spot on the gate in the night show. However, he and the Rockstar Husqvarna team decided that it would be best to sit out tonight’s race.

RJ Hampshire said: “As much as I want to go racing tonight, the team and I decided to sit this one out! Was sick all week and just not comfortable out there. We did this for experience and with the track as brutal as tonight will be, I need get back to 100% to be ready to battle in Seattle. Thank you @husqvarnamotorcyclesusa @rockstarenergy for the opportunity. Good chance you see me back on a 450 before the @supercrosslive season is over.”

Last weekend’s Daytona Supercross hosted RJ’s 450SX debut, and it was an exciting one as the long-time factory 250 rider won his first ever 450 Heat race and scored a solid 8th place in the Main Event. RJ is currently second place in points in the 250 West Coast division, but he was excited to fill-in for teammate Malcolm Stewart at a few 450 Rounds to give the Husqvarna sponsors some more exposure, and to learn the pace of the 450 class.
