MXA PHOTO OF THE DAY: EVER DREAM OF OWNING AN MV AGUSTA?
Okay, this 60cc 1954 MV Agusta Monowheel one-off probably isn’t what you had in mind. It sold in auction a few years ago for $17.500. Close examination easily reveals that it can’t actually be ridden.

YAMAHA TO BUILD WORLD’S CHEAPEST MOTORCYCLE — $500
The Yamaha Crux is their current low-price bike.
The catch? It’s for the Indian market. The next catch? It’s a 100cc four-stroke. The third catch? It won’t be made until 2016 and will only be offered in India, Asia,Africa, and South America. It will be called the Indra, which stands for “Innovative New Development based on Responsible Analysis.” The project will be collaboration between Yamaha’s Indian R&D center and its Japanese development center. The 100cc street bike market is huge in Inda, but Yamaha has not capitalized on it against competitors Hero, TVS Motors, Bajaj and Honda since Yamaha dropped its two-stroke powered 100cc RX100. It’s current low-cost model is the four-stroke Crux.
IS THE OSSA LOGO A CLOVERLEAF?
Ossa founder Manuel Giro was the Spanish sidecar champion along with his co-pilot Francisco Bulto (who would later found Bultaco). After World War II, with improved two-stroke engine technology obtained by the Allies from DKW in Germany, Ossa began producing two-stroke motorcycles. Ossa’s first mass produced model was introduced in 1949.
Ossa’s memorable four-leaf clover insignia was the hallmark of the Spanish brand. But, it wasn’t a four-leaf clover. Ossa got its start in 1924, making cinematographic equipment (mostly film projectors) under the name Orpheo Sincronia Sociedad Anomina (OSSA). Ossa’s famous four-leaf clover emblem isn’t actually a four-leaf clover, but instead the escapement mechanism of a film projector.
