SALT LAKE CITY 450 SUPERCROSS RECAP: ANDERSON DOES IT AGAIN & SO DOES BARCIA
On the podium, Justin Barcia smiled as he listened to the crowd boo him and said, “We’re racing for a championship, third in points, I was doing everything I could. Obviously, it was an aggressive pass. I’m gonna own that, what do I say? I’m out there racing for this championship, that’s what I wanted, third. I’m sorry guys, but I’m here racing for a living. This is what I do. You can bring the boos, but love it or hate it, this is me—since day one.”
The AMA penalized Justin Barcia 10-points for his aggressive pass on Malcolm Stewart, moving him for 4th in the 2022 season points to fifth overall.
Jason Anderson easily won in Salt Lake in the absence of Eli Tomac, who won was crown last weekend in Denver. It was is Jason’s seventh 450 Supercross win of 2022. That means of the 17-rounds in 2022 Tomac and Anderson won 14 of them (Roczen, Sexton and Musquin won the other three).
