SEE WHAT HAPPENED IN THE DAYTONA 450 CLASS IN UNDER 2 MINUTES

Most pundits believe that the Daytona Supercross is the best predictor of what will happened in the AMA 450 National Motocross Championships later this season. The long, rough and fast layout is the least like a Supercross and the most like an outdoor National of all the Supercross tracks—until we get to the first two SuperMotocross Play-Off rounds in September (after the AMA Nationals are over). The first two rounds will also be held on the infield of Super Speedways. The final Play-Off decider will be held in the old-school Los Angeles Coliseum.

Eli Tomac had a banner night, in what could turn out to be a banner year, as he won the 450 main, while his prime competition, Webb and Sexton, finished second and third. Cooper Webb, who won the previous round in Texas, couldn’t find the afterburner that he normally kicks in on the last few laps to make a move on Eli. As for Chase Sexton his last few laps were mistake riddled—and resulted in two collisions with Justin Barcia. In both cases Justin got the worst of it, but Chase was playing with fire.
