Designed to attract attention, not to be admired for its looks, the Mugen E.Rex, is a show bike with some high-tech electric trickery—including water-cooled battery packs.

Make no mistake about it, this ugly T-Rex-inspired Mugen electric motocross bike is designed for the Tokyo Motorcycle Show this weekend or for Fred Flintstone.

Mugen knows a lot about electric motorcycles, having won the Isle Of Man TT Zero electric road race three straight times with itw Shinden road bike. Mugen, owned by Hiro Honda, the son of Honda founder Soichiro Honda, is often used as a developer of new ideas for Honda. Honda, along with every motorcycle manufacturer, will be introducing all-electric bikes in the future—the immediate future. Let’ hope they don’t look like the E.Rex.
