TAKE AN ANIMATED LAP OF SATURDAY’S PALA NATIONAL MOTOCROSS TRACK

Built on native American reservation land, the big draw for this part of Southern California is normally casinos, in fact there is one across the road of the race track, but once a year, and unfathomably, this year twice a year, the big draw for Pala is the opening round of the 2022 AMA 250/50 National Motocross Championship. After an exciting AMA Supercross series, which just ended two weeks ago, all eyes are turned to Pala to see who can shine in the wide open spaces—of which the Pala Raceway has plenty of. Last year’s champions, Dylan Ferrandis and Jett Lawrence, will be there to defend their crowns as well as newly crowned AMA Supercross Champion Eli Tomac—but the big stars of the day will be the return of Ryan Dungey after a five-year break from racing and nine-time World Champion Tony Cairoli in his American National debut.
