THE REM MOTOCROSS RACE YOU DON’T WANT TO MISS—SATURDAY’S RACE WILL BE MEMORABLE IN REM’S 35-YEAR HISTORY

HISTORIC REM MOTOCROSS THIS SATURDAY, MARCH 19: FAREWELL TO FRANK & MYRA

This Saturday, REM Motocross will be celebrating Frank and Myra Thomason’s final race as the REM promoters after 35 years of running races at Carlsbad and Glen Helen. Although REM will continue racing at Glen Helen, with most of the same staff, Frank and Myra take a well deserved break from three decades of running the best races in the world. They have held 1200 races and, believe it or not, many of the REM regulars have been to every one of those races. REM has been a pleasant and unique experience for it’s racers, many of whom date back to Carlsbad Raceway. There is no doubt that REM is the “Biggest Little Race in the World.” What other local event has people in France, England and Holland waiting to read the weekly race report? Over the years REM has become a racing destination for riders from all over the world and a sanctuary for those trying to get back to the roots of the sport.

For this Saturday, in a throwback, riders will not be required to have transponders on their bikes—REM wants to go old school. Just be sure your bike has readable numbers on all three sides. REM will be racing on April 2, April 30, May 7, May 14, May 28, June 25, July 23, July 30, August 13, August 20 and August 27 (with more races to be announced later).
