WATCH ROCZEN WIN, TOMAC GET TENTH, BOTH MARTINS OUT, ONE COOPER WIN & ONE COOPER STRUGGLE

The 2021 AMA National season is only two weeks old, but there have been four different winners (Ferrandis, Lawrence, Roczen and Cooper), and a sudden rash of injuries—especially the ones that knock both Alex and Jeremy Martin out of contention. There was some bad news for title contenders. Eli Tomac was expected to bounce back from his dismal 9th at Pala last week with a win in his home state. That didn’t happened as Eli finished a distant 10th and is now 44 points out of the number one spot. Adam Cianciarulo continued his penchant for crashing while near the front, and this week recovered to come back to third overall with 3-6 moto scores. Cooper Webb had the misfortune of getting the holeshot in the second moto. It was a misfortune because he couldn’t stay anywhere near the front. And last year’s 450 National Champion, Zach Osborne, obviously isn’t fully recovered from his back ailments as he sat out the second moto. The good news? Everyone gets next weekend off to try to find the same mojo that powered Ken Roczen (450) and Justin Cooper (250) to the top step of the Colorado podium.
