WATCH THE ST. LOUIS SUPERCROSS: TOMAC’S BACK, BAM-BAM BAM! JETT DOCKED

IT WAS A NIGHT TO REMEMBER:

(1) Eli Tomac came out of his funk to become the sixth different 450 winner in the first 12 450 events of the 2024 season. It was his 52nd 450 Supercross victory.

(2) Jett Lawrence finally got to meet the real Justin Barcia, when he cut down on Bam-Bam and ended the night just tooling around to in the back of moto three to end up 8th overall for the night (which wasn’t Jett’s worst finish in 2024—he was 9th in the San Francisco mud).

(3) The 450 Championship looked like it was on the verge of being iced by Jett Lawrence after the first two motos, but things changed dramatically in race three when Jett’s 16-point lead over Cooper Webb was cut down to 8 points because of Justin Barcia and and the Red Cross flag.

(4) Five riders were docked two places in the final results (Jett Lawrence, Cooper Webb, Chase Sexton, Aaron Plessinger and Jason Anderson (docked twice) for ignoring the Red Cross flag on the final laps of the second moto  (Eli Tomac, who finished second in the second moto was the only one of the top five front runners who obeyed the rules and rolled the finish line). The penalized riders all had a lot of reasons as to why they didn’t deserve to be docked, but tell that to all the riders who have been docked in the past—even Ryan Dungey had his 2016 Detroit Supercross win taken away, post-race, from him for a Red Cross flag violation.

(5) Levi Kitchen won the Seattle Supercross last Saturday by 20-second margin over second place and this week the Pro Circuit Kawasaki rider was even more impressive, winning all three 250 West motos of the St. Louis Triple Crown event. In the process he extended his points lead to 15 points over R.J. Hampshire.
