WHIP-IT WEDNESDAY: JOSH HILL
Josh Hill is a recently retired professional racer. Hill first started earning AMA points in the 2006 AMA 250 Nationals. One of factory Yamaha’s 250 hopefuls, Hill finished 2-5 for third overall in only his third National (Binghamton). While he didn’t win any titles, Josh had quite a few brilliant rides. His career-best was a third in the 250 Western Regional Supercross chase in 2007. He won the 2008 Minneapolis 450 Supercross as a rookie in that class. Unfortunately, injuries plagued the friendly rider. The worst came while trying to learn the backflip in preparation for the X Games Speed & Style event. He wrecked violently and was never the same. Just last year Hill crashed hard at the Detroit Supercross, breaking his collarbone, a few ribs and collapsing a lung. At the time Monster Energy needed a motorsports manager, so instead of continuing his career he opted to retire from racing. Hill is also involved with helping Alta Motors develop their electric motorcycle. His brother, Justin Hill, is currently riding for Red Bull/Troy Lee Designs/KTM.
