It takes a lot of finesse to whip a KX500. Sean Collier’s riding style is smooth as silk.

The Supercross season took a break last Saturday. And under most circumstances we wouldn’t know what to do with ourselves. Fortunately, MTA gave us something better to watch — the World Two-Stroke Motocross Championship at Glen Helen. Two-stroke enthusiasts, parts manufacturers and racing professionals descended upon Glen Helen to show off their latest project bikes–even if they were a few decades old. Sean Collier was among them with his modern KX500 update. Sean’s riding style is effortless, making him look good on anything he swings a leg over. His ability to take any bike and maximize whatever obstacle he encounters is a skill noticeable by even amateur observers. Sean is a decorated amateur National champion. He raced professional for the Star racing team with many top 10 finishes both indoors and outdoors. With the hardships of professional racing, injuries prevented Sean from reaching the career he had the potential to obtain. Instead of leaving racing behind, Sean choose to enjoy the ride and race for fun. With a new daughter as his priority, Sean is no longer focused on racing at the top level. Solidified through a fist bump, Sean agreed to throw this whip at the checkered flag during the Open Pro class.
