YOU GOTTA SEE THIS! “THE CARLSBAD USGP: 1980” DVD TRAILER

With almost 60 interviews completed over two years, the producers at Pipeline Digital Media (PDM) are getting set to release their newest project the Carlsbad USGP:1980 Presented by Daystar Products. The trailer is now online for the public to get a sneak peak of what’s coming in June of this year.

Carlsbad USGP:1980: The Movie“It feels really good to let the public finally see what is coming and what our team has been working on for so long,” said Todd Huffman, Producer/Director. “This trailer shows just enough to let people see some of the personalities, footage and drama that will be in the final movie without giving too much away.” Huffman added.

While the trailer is a little over 2 minutes long, the completed film, which is in the final editing stage, will be somewhere in the 60- minute range. The film covers everything from early Carlsbad USGP history, to the 1980 season leading up to that historic day, Marty Moates’ background and, of course, flag-to-flag action in both motos on June 22nd, 1980. ABC Wide World of Sports crews captured the race action and the producers have licensed the original footage from ABC/ESPN and upconverted it to high-definition. They have the best copy of this footage ever released to the public.

Some of the people interviewed for the film were Brad Lackey, Roger DeCoster, Bob Hannah, Gerrit Wolsink, Danny LaPorte, Marty Smith, Marty Tripes Chuck Sun, Andre Malherbe, Andre Vromans, Harry Everts, Rick Johnson, Ron Lechien, Broc Glover, Jim Gibson, Rex Staten, Goat Breker, Mark Simo, Super Hunky, Gavin Trippe, Tom White, Dave Arnold, Mike Guerra, Larry Huffman, Laurens Offner and Marty Moates’ brother David Moates.

The premiere for the movie will take place in San Diego at the Spreckels Theatre on Tuesday, June 22, of this year. Exactly 30 years to the day of Marty Moates’ historic ride. Another premiere will also take place in Houston, Texas, on the same night.
