2020 ANAHEIM 2 SUPERCROSS PRE-RACE REPORT | ROUND #3 OF THE 2020 MONSTER ENERGY SUPERCROSS SEASON

The 2020 Anaheim 2 Supercross is just around the corner and the riders and teams of the Monster Energy Supercross series are all back in California after a long 1,800 mile drive from St. Louis. We’re excited to see how the results will play out again this Saturday. Ken Roczen is back on top of the world after winning his 12th 450 Main Event of his career last Saturday and his first one since his brutal injury in 2017. Justin Barcia finished second last weekend, even while dealing with an illness, and he is looking for another podium this Saturday. If Justin gets on the podium again, it will be his second time ever scoring three podiums in a row. Justin also has a chance to sweep both races at Anaheim and if he does he will be the first to have done it since Ryan Villopoto in 2012. MXA will be on hand at the race for press day and for the real deal on Saturday. Be sure to stay tuned to our website for results, news, Best in the Pits photo galleries and more.

WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW: ANAHEIM 2 SUPERCROSS

450 heat race start 2020 Anaheim 1 Supercross -4615The iconic Anaheim Angels stadium has held more Supercross races than any other stadium. You’d think that the 2020 Monster Cup would’ve came to Anaheim instead of Carson City (Los Angeles) in October. For more info on that event, click here.

Last year, Cooper Webb finished 5th at Anaheim 1 and 10th at round two in Glendale before he grabbed his first ever 450SX Main Event wins and the overall in the Triple Crown format at Anaheim 2. It was the win at A2 which boosted his confidence that helped to win the 450 Championship. This year has started out similar for Cooper, he was 3rd at the opener and 12th in St. Louis. Only time will tell if he can put together another race winning ride this Saturday. Since Anaheim started hosting multiple races a season in 1999, the eventual series champion has won at least one race in Anaheim every season except 1999, 2014, and 2018. The winner of Anaheim 2 has gone on to win the championship in 14 of 21 seasons (67%).
