SPY UNVEILS MAGNETO MX GOGGLE

(Carlsbad, CA) ? Spy Optic, Inc. announces the unveiling of the Magneto motocross goggle, a breakthrough goggle that is poised to set a new standard in motocross racing goggles. The Magneto utilizes patented Scoop ventilation technology, advanced optical engineering principles, and introduces Spy’s revolutionary, Selectron removable face foam system.

Integrating extensive testing and feedback from dozens of professional riders including Spy professional Motocross athletes Jeremy McGrath and Kevin Windham, Spy’s product design focus revolved around three critical issues: integration of Spy’s powerful Scoop Ventilation Technology, introducing a new optical benchmark in goggle peripheral vision, and creating a proprietary, removable face foam system.

ÿ

The Magneto features patent pending, Selectron foam, a completely removable and replaceable face-foam system that allows riders to select foam that best matches the contours of their facial features. In addition, Selectron foam enables riders to easily replace sweat-saturated or aging foam for a renewed, fresh, custom fit.

ÿ

The Magneto will initially be offered with two Selectron foam systems. The race-ready, Pro Series low profile foam system has been engineered for a firm fit, maximum peripheral vision, and accepts patented, SAS pads (Sweat Absorption System). The SuperPlush face foam system utilizes soft and pliable foam for everyday riding.ÿ

ÿ

The low profile, optical geometry of the Magneto allows for a maximum field of vision. The sweeping view through the oversized, anti-fog-treated, polycarbonate lens allows for a true, panoramic viewing experience.

ÿ

Spy’s proprietary Scoop ventilation system was integrated in to the Magneto’s frame design. Engineered ventilation ducts are placed at the base of the frame and arranged in micro-cast alloy Scoop grills to direct air away from riders’ eyes while increasing inner frame ventilation.

ÿ

The Magneto frame design follows in the brand’s storied history of innovative aesthetics, unparalleled attention to detail, and premium optical technology. The frame’s design is comprised of sharp overlays and increased volume in multiple, raised planes.ÿ “The look was inspired,” says Spy designer and motocross rider Jerome Mage, “by angular stealth jets, evil Star Wars sith masters, the lines and toughness of classic American muscle cars, and the luxurious vibe of old Cadillacs.”

ÿ

Proprietary design, handcrafted detailing, and creative individuality influence all seven styles of the Magneto, also including signature goggles for Kevin Windham and Damon Bradshaw. Magneto straps accentuate goggle frame detail with touches of metallic thread, three-dimensional raised weaving, and custom leather patches.ÿ

ÿ

The Magneto was introduced at an invitation only media and professional athlete event held at Cahuilla Creek Race Track in Anza, California on July 18th, and will ship to Spy’s global retail partners in late August.

ÿ

The Magneto retails for $89.95 ($94.95 for 24K color) and comes with two replaceable/removable face foams. Replacement foam is $17.95 each.ÿÿ
