MOTOKROSS ACTION MID-WEEK REPORT

#WHIPITWEDNESDAY

Rider: Josh Grant

One of the toughest riders you’d see out at the track on race day is Josh Grant. Josh was one of the stellar amateur riders who continued that momentum into the pro ranks. He won Loretta Lynns once in the 85 (14-16) class, but was always a rider up near the front and grabbing multiple moto wins. When he went pro he was able to be on the podium twice and have multiple top-five finishes in his first outdoor motocross series. When he moved into Supercross, he again had multiple podiums and top-five finishes with his best result of a second in Daytona). The following Supercross season in 2006 he grabbed three wins and finished third overall in the 250 series. Though he never won a championship, he was always a rider who would be up towards the front making it difficult for others to gain valuable points. He is one of the best riders at Glen Helen and in 2015 got second in the 450 MXGP race besting riders like Cooper Webb, Jason Anderson, and Antonio Cairoli. Now Josh can be seen around racing select events and having fun with his two boys, who have the racing bug.

ALL TIED UP HEADING TO NASHVILLE

Jett Lawrence has held the points lead for the majority of this season, but over the past few races, Cooper Webb has chipped away at those points. Last weekend in Foxborough the track was difficult to pass on and a bad start for Lawrence meant he had to battle through the pack in those tough conditions. Lawrence was able to make his way up to fifth almost making a move on Anderson in the last turn but it was not meant to be. Cooper Webb on the other hand started up front and controlled the entirety of the race. After the result, Webb made up the eight points separating the two and now is tied heading into Nashville. Lawrence being a 450 rookie is new to this situation but as for Webb he has been here before and has a little more experience. Both riders will have to keep mentally strong for the rest of the series to take home the championship in Salt Lake City.

GAINING MOMENTUM

After struggling a bit early in the season Haiden Deegan found his way to the top step of the podium again this past weekend. He dominated the race by grabbing the holeshot and never looking back. He now sits 13 points behind Cameron McAdoo who holds the red plate for the time being and Deegan moved to third in the overall standings. But this win was a big step in the right direction for Deegan as he was able to get a clean start and beat the other riders without issue. Now if Deegan can carry this momentum through the rest of the East series, he has a good chance to catch up to Cameron McAdoo. But McAdoo will not let it come easy and it will take perfection from Deegan moving forward.

WINNER OF THE FOXBOROUGH FANTASY LEAGUE “MIKEYWARD108″

Nakuha ni MikeyWard108 ang kanyang sarili ng isang bagong hanay ng FXR gear para sa kanyang mga pinili ngayong weekend sa Foxborough.

250 PAGSULAT NG CLASS

In the 250 East class, Mikeyward108 had some great predictions. Starting with Haiden Deegan in the number one spot. This gave him 36 fantasy points, including the ten bonus for having it in the correct position. In second place he chose Cameron McAdoo, which was also a correct position, and awarded 33 fantasy points including the ten bonus points. Third, he chose Max Anstie, Max only finished fifth so the points awarded were 18 with no bonus points given. In fourth, he chose Pierce Brown who did in fact finish fourth on the night, this gave him 29 points including the ten bonus points. In fifth he chose Tom Vialle who finished third on the evening giving 21 points but no bonus points awarded and in sixth he chose Coty Schock who once again did finish sixth giving him 27 fantasy points, including the ten bonus.

450 PAGSULAT NG CLASS

In the 450 Class, his predictions were pretty spot on as well. He chose Cooper Webb as the winner and Webb did come through, this gave him a total of 36 points including the ten bonus. In second he chose Jett Lawrence who ended up fifth on the night only awarding 18 points. In third, he chose Eli Tomac who finished sixth on the evening only awarding 17 points and no bonus points. In fourth he chose Chase Sexton who ended up finishing second in the race, giving him 23 points but again no bonus. In fifth he chose Ken Roczen who finished an outstanding third place, giving 21 points but no bonus and finally in sixth he chose Jason Anderson who finished in fourth on the night, again giving him 19 points.

Though he did not receive many bonus points in the 450’s MikeyWard108 did not lose points on a single rider in both classes. One of the best picks we’ve seen so far this season, but points were left on the table in the 450s if he had moved around some of the picks. Jett Lawrence was the most chosen rider to take the win and a lot of people chose Webb for second. Now that they are tied in points it will be even more difficult to predict who will take the win  in Nashville, as well as an East/West shootout to shake things up. Be sure to update your app and we will see you next weekend!

ITANONG ANG MGA MXPERTS: ANG TAHIMIK AY GINTO

MXA wraps its muffler packing with masking tape to keep the packing from blowing out or collapsing. If the packing disappears, the muffler’s canister will discolor and, if it is carbon fiber it will blow apart under the intense heat.

Once you have wrapped the silencer packing around the core, take masking tape and wrap it around the packing. The masking tape will keep the packing secured to the silencer core so that it can be installed in the canister. No, the tape doesn’t hurt the performance of the muffler, but if you don’t pack the muffler tightly, it will cause problems.

QUOTE OF THE WEEK: COOPER WEBB HEATS THINGS UP

“FOXBOROUGH WAS AMAZING! WE WERE ABLE TO GET A POLE POSITION, MY SECOND ONE OF THE YEAR, WHICH WAS AWESOME. I HAD A GREAT HEAT RACE, AND THE MAIN EVENT WAS AWESOME. I WAS ABLE TO PULL THE HOLESHOT AND LEAD EVERY LAP. I MADE ONE BIG MISTAKE THAT COST ME A LITTLE BIT OF THE LEAD THAT I HAD AND THAT MADE IT A CLOSER FINISH THAN I LIKED. BUT YEAH, IT WAS AN UNBELIEVABLE NIGHT TO GET ANOTHER WIN AND TO BE TIED FOR THE POINTS LEAD; IT’S AN AMAZING FEELING. WE’RE GOING TO GIVE IT ALL WE CAN IN THESE LAST FOUR.”

Aaron Plessinger is taking in the surroundings. He has until the start to the 2024 AMA 450 Nationals to enjoy nature since a broken elbow at Foxborough will have him out of action until then.
