WATCH THE GRAND PRIX OF SPAIN: JORGE PRADO & KAY DE WOLF REPEAT

2023 FIM 450 MXGP Champion Jorge Prado has won the first two Grands Prix of 2024. The GP of Spain victory was his 39th Grand Prix win (counting his two FIM 250 World Championships and his 2023 450 title). He was unchallenged in Spain, thanks to two holeshots. Tim Gajser was second, while Romain Febvre went 4-3 and Jeffrey Herlings went 3-4 (with Febvre getting the third step on the podium because of his better second moto).

Kay de Wolf (74) won the 250 GP’s of Argentina and Spain.

In the 250 class, Husqvarna-mounted Kay de Wolf went 1-2 to best Simon Laengenfelder’s 2-3, Andrea Adamo, the 2023 250 World Champion, was third overall with a 6-1. The Coenen brothers saw Lucas finished 4th overall, while Sacha was ninth. The Triumph duo of Camden McClellan and Mikkel Haarup were 7th and 11th (and both are in the top ten in points)

Don’t forget that the season-long points standings get a boost from Saturday’s Qualifier points counting in the yearly total and can add as many as 10 points to the weekly GP total: After two rounds, Tim Gajser has 19 bonus points. Jorge Prado has 17, Romain Febvre and Jeff Herlings both have 12 extra points. In the 250 class,Kay deWolf has 19 extra points, Lucas Coenen has 17 bonus points and Simon Laengenfelder has 16 points.

Jorge Prado (1) is definitely coming to the USA in 2025, but he won’t be on a GasGas. At this point it looks like he will be at Team Kawasaki.
