ASK THE MXPERTS: How To Fix KTM’s Leaking Gas Cap

    MXA’s solution for the first version of KTM’s aircraft-style quarter-turn gas caps was to take the KTM gas cap to the local hardware store and buy a rubber O-ring just big enough to slip over the gas cap threads. The O-ring will seal the tank. This is cheap and easy to do. On the later version KTM gas caps, the ones with the orange lock button, we take dykes and clip off the locking tabs (so that the lcoks don’t work anymore). Then we put an O-ring on to insure that the caps doesn’t leak.
