WHAT STANDS OUT? Here’s a list of things that stand out with the Luxon MX Gen 3 Pro triple clamps for the 2024–2025 Beta 450RX.

(1) Beta. The 2024–2025 Beta 450RX’s chromoly steel chassis has lots of potential. It’s comfortable and forgiving, and the engine is smooth and linear, which complements the chassis well when it is short-shifted and ridden in the low-to-mid rpm range. However, in early testing, we struggled to find optimum front-wheel traction at corner entrance and extreme lean angles. The tall top tube on Beta’s MX model gives the Beta a “chopper” feel we desperately wanted to fix. (2) Design. The Gen 3 Pro clamps are a four-in-one triple clamp. They come with two steering tubes, two OEM lower bearings/races/seals installed, two offset inserts and offer four different offset options—20mm, 21mm, 22mm and  23mm. Also included is a Japanese-style steering stem nut, lower clamp braces for flex adjustment, titanium pinch bolts, and anti-seize gel for the bolts. The Gen 3 Pro clamps are available in black, blue and red, and the machine finish on the inner bores of the clamp makes for exact alignment and eliminates fork-tube slippage.

(3) Bar mounts. When buying the Gen 3 Pro triple clamps, you must also purchase Luxon’s solid or four-post rubber-cushioned handlebar mounts. We chose the four-post rubber mount over the solid-mount system. Luxon offers three different durometers of rubber elastomers to fine-tune the amount of feedback you want in your hands. We chose the medium yellow dampers, but they also have green/soft and red/hard. The Luxon four-post rubber handlebar mounts are almost 6mm lower than stock, which helps with the Beta 450RX’s tall chopper feel.

(4) Performance. The MXA test riders took a full day of test time to try every one of Luxon’s many options. We ran through all four offset options, returned to the stock 22mm and then ran through all four offsets again. We found that the Beta chassis thrives in corners without losing high-speed stability with the 20mm offset. This was our favorite setting.

Our final setup resulted in smoother fork action, increased front-wheel traction and improved lean-angle traction. Every MXA test rider felt more confident pushing the Beta 450RX to its limits in corners. We would recommend the 21mm offset for faster Grand Prix-style racing or loamy East Coast dirt where the front wheel already likes to stick to the ground. The 23mm offset is for the beach race guys who hold it wide open and want to keep the bike going straight. We didn’t choose to run the lower clamp brace, but we appreciate that Luxon gives you multiple options.

WHAT’S THE SQUAWK? Every speed rider would benefit from these triple clamps, but we don’t believe the Luxon Gen 3 Pro clamps are for the weekend warrior. With the high-end pricing and multiple options, the average Joe might get confused on the best setup. These clamps are for the serious tinkerer or high-level pro looking to get the most out of his Beta 450RX.

MXA RATING: Luxon’s Gen 3 Pro clamps are a game changer on the 2024–2025 Beta 450RX.
