The “Saturday at the Glen “weekly motocross races are zeroing on the 2025 Dubya World Vet Championship that starts on Friday, October 31 and runs through the first weekend of November. There is a Saturday race next Saturday, September 27 on the National track.
Brian Medeiros (934) went 2-2 in the Open Expert class behind Hollan Russell’s 1-1. He came back in the 450 Expert moto to get a second in the first moto behind Josh Mosiman, but got cleaned out in the second moto (See below). Amazingly, he wasn’t injured.
But all eyes are focused on the October 25 race, which will be the World Vet Warm-up race. It is a chance for out-of-state and foreign riders to get their first shot at the World Vet Track, although, the October 25 race, formerly known as “Octobercross, will not get the complete World Vet Layout, they will get a lot of it. Jody and Dennis Stapleton will finish the layout of the 2025 World Vet track in the gap between October 25 and October 31.
This Saturday there were computer issues that forced the score keepers to score by hand—just like in the old days. No matter how many times they tried to reboot MYLaps to work, it would fail. As a result there were a lots of mixed up results.
Brian got shoved off the track, by a rider who cut inside of him heading into the sand section. He went for a wild ride.
Going over the berm in this section sends you towards an unforgiving cliff face.
Brian hung on to the bike as it his rear wheel blasted through the berm.
Somehow, Brian was able to turn his KX450 away from hitting the wall.
And his ride came to an end when the rear end swung around and spit him off the bike.
Uninjured, Brian caught his breath. He was still on the the racetrack, but his bike was providing protection against any other errant racers.
Dennis Stapleton (184) ran the high line in the second corner. The mountains in the background rise to 10,000 feet above sea level.
Holland Russell won the 250 Expert class and the Open Experts.
Josh Mosiman (33) won the 450 Expert class on MXA’s 2026 Yamaha YZ450F.
Riley Morgan (180) came out to play at “Saturday at the Glen.”
R.J. Warda (572) powers his KTM 450SXF over a rise in pursuit of a top three finish in the 450 Expert class.
Bob Rutten came down from New Harmony, Utah, to race with his SoCal buddies—although lots of them are moving to Utah also.
Will Harper (7) has been off the bike as he deals with his new knees. He got rid of this Stark Varg and switched to a Yamaha YZ450F in the Over-65 Expert class.
Ron Lawson (35) is famous for racing a wide variety of off-road bikes at Glen Helen, but lately he was focused on racing a 2026 Kawasaki KX250 for the Over-65 Expert class.
Pete Murray (49) won the Over-60 Expert class and got 7th the Over-50 Experts.
Jon Ortner (37), on MXA’s 2026 Honda CRF450, was second behind Pete Murray in the Over-60 Experts with a 3-2.
Ed Foedish came over from Scottsdale, Arizona, to put in some laps at Glen Helen before the World Vet Championship on October 31. Ed was fifth in the Over-50 Experts with a 4-7.
Mark Crosby (95) was third in the Over-65 Intermediate class, but he won the “2025 Husqvarna FC350 Heritage Edition” class with a 1-1
John Caper (44) was the runner-up in the “2025 Husqvarna FC350 Heritage Edition “class
Ricky Richards (45) could have easily won the “2025 Husqvarna FC350 Heritage Edition” class, but his FC450 isn’t available in the Heritage Edition’s blue motif. So, he had to race the Over-40 Intermediate class.
