WEIRD STUFF! SNAEFELL SIDECAR OR CAR WITH A MOTORCYCLE ON THE SIDE:
IS THE SNAEFELL IS A MOTORCYCLE WITH A SIDECAR OR A CAR WITH A MOTORCYCLE ATTACHED TO IT?
What was designer Francois Knorreck thinking when he designed and built the Snaefell? Did he want a motorcycle that could carry more people? Or a car that had the feel of a motorcycle?
The Snaefell started life as a 1000cc Laverda motorcycle, but Knorreck grafted it to a combination of Volkswagen GTI, Audi 80 and Citroen Xantia car parts.
The Snaefell is named after a volcano in Iceland and has three exhausts, four wheels and carries four passengers (two on the motorcycle and two in the car). The complete vehicle is grafted together into a single piece of bodywork.
