Shane McElrath 2019 Florida National 3Shane McElrath goes 1-1 to win the overall at Budds Creek.

Shane McElrath’s started off Moto 2 right where he left off in Moto 1. Shane grabbed the holeshot with Mitchell Oldenburg second while Rj Hampshire and Martin Davalos went down in the first turn which slowed up big a group of riders. Mitchell Oldenburg quickly moved into the lead when McElrath jumped off the track. But Shane would get  back on the track in second and get around Oldenburg soon after on lap two. Alex Martin moved up to second passing Oldenburg on his JGR Suzuki early in the race. Adam Cianciarulo and Dylan Ferrandis found themselves back in the pack early in the race and Dylan was right behind Adam before Mitchell Falk made a mistake in an off-camber corner which caused him to do a 180 and ride on the track backwards. Mitchell Falk panicked and tried to turn himself back around and he accidentally ran into Ferrandis and took him out. Dylan quickly picked up his bike after losing two positions. Justin Cooper was sixth in the first race, he passed his teammate Oldenburg to get into third with 18 minutes left and then he eventually caught and passed Alex Martin for second. Dylan Ferrandis caught back up to Adam Cianciarulo and made an aggressive pass on him to take over the sixth place position. Jett Lawrence the rookie and younger brother of Hunter Lawrence ran well inside of the top ten during the first half of the race, but he had issues that caused him to drop outside of the top 20 towards the end. Shane McElrath went on to win the Moto with Justin Cooper second and Alex Martin third.

250 MOTO 1 RESULTS

Shane McElrath 2019 WASHOUGAL MOTOCROSS NATIONAL-6Shane McElrath won the first 250 Moto at Budds Creek.

Ty Masterpool grabbed the holeshot with Shane McElrath second around the first turn. Adam Cianciarulo quickly made the move into second, but a mistake on lap two set Adam back to fifth place and it allowed rookie Ty Masterpool to lead for a few laps. Finally, Shane McElrath would make the move on Masterpool to take the lead. Adam Cianciarulo got around Michael Mosiman and Martin Davalos, but then Mosiman would challenge Cianciarulo for the next two laps. Dylan Ferrandis was recovering from a bad start as he passed his way through the pack. Adam Cianciarulo got into second place, but at that point Shane McElrath already had a healthy lead. Michael Mosiman ran third until a hard charging Rj Hampshire made the pass and then Dylan Ferrandis came out of nowhere towards the end of the race to pass Mosiman with one lap left and almost pass Hampshire at the finish line. Geico Honda riders Chase Sexton and Hunter Lawrence both had issues on the start that would make for a difficult race with Hunter finishing 10th and Chase 12th.
