2023 SUPERMOTOCROSS PLAYOFF PRIZE MONEY BREAKDOWN
AMA Pro Racing released a full payout breakdown of exactly how much each of the SuperMotocross riders will earn at each race, plus how much they’ll earn for finishing within the top 22 of the SMX Championship. There are three SMX Playoff races, the first one will be Saturday September 9th, at zMAX Dragway at Charlotte Motor Speedway, in North Carolina. The second race will take place at Chicagoland Speedway in Joliet, Illinois, on September 16th, and the finale will take place at the LA Coliseum in Los Angeles, California, September 23rd.
There are 18 riders in the 250 class and 19 riders in the 450 class who are automatically seeded into the Main Events at each of the three races, based on overall points accumulated throughout the Supercross and motocross seasons. Then, there are 10 riders eligible to show up for the 250 LCQ each weekend to race for a top four transfer position (making a complete 22 rider lineup) and there are 9 riders eligible to show up for the 450 LCQ each weekend to race for a top three transfer position (making a complete 22 rider lineup).

The Monster Energy Cup was the last “big money” race in our sport, but the race died of covid (the last race was 2019) and FELD has stated that it won’t be making a return.

Jo Shimoda came on strong at the Pro Motocross season finale two weeks ago and he went 1-1 in the 250 class. He’s looking to carry that momentum into the final races.
