450 RACE RESULTS // 2023 WASHOUGAL NATIONAL
We’ve made it to the eighth round of the Motocross Nationals season. This weekend in Washougal, Washington, Jett Lawrence looks to extend his points lead as well as keep up with the perfect season he’s had thus far. Currently 14-0 and top qualifier, Jett Lawrence has the confidence to continue this domination. Chase Sexton is not to be forgotten; after crashing in the early part of Moto 1 last weekend, Chase was able to run down Jett and prove to himself and the rest of the industry that Jett’s dominance could be ended. Also, the Kawasaki riders of Jason Anderson and Adam Cianciarulo both had extremely fast qualifying times in the positions 2nd and 3rd, respectively. Could these riders put an end to the reign? Find out today!

450 MOTO 2 RESULTS
Jett Lawrence had to hold off a hard charge from Sexton, but he is still undefeated.
Ferrandis again off to a rocket of a start in Moto Two only to lead up Horsepower Hill to find the red flag from a gate malfunction. All riders had to head back for a restart. After the restart, Aaron Plessinger takes the holeshot, followed by Sexton and Lawrence. At the top of the horsepower hill, Lawrence capitalized on Chase and moved into the second position behind Plessinger.
Around the ten-minute mark, Lawrence starts to become more aggressive, getting right on the back wheel of Plessigner, setting himself up for a pass in the trees. Lawrence to the lead, followed by Plessinger, who Is now under pressure from Chase Sexton, who needs to get back behind Lawrence as quickly as possible. Headed up Horsepower Hill, Chase gets a run on the KTM rider and makes the move entering the corner. Around the halfway point of the race, just over a second separated Lawrence from Sexton, both of which have pulled away from Aaron Plessinger by more than 10 seconds.
Towards the conclusion of the moto Chase has been steadily trying to cut down on the lead of Jett Lawrence. Within the final two minutes of the race, Chase drops Lawrence’s lead to less than a second. Still, like so many other weekends, Chase goes down pushing too hard and becomes unsuccessful at catching the undefeated Honda racer. Chase, who pushes his racing to the limit every weekend, gets up to dust himself off and settle for second overall as the race win was gifted to Jett Lawrence. In the end, Jett comes away still undefeated with 16-0 moto scores this motocross season.
Also, something to highlight is that Carson Brown is the highest-finishing two-stroke this afternoon at Washougal, collecting the purse of $15,000, a great day for the PNW Native. Even though Carson spent the majority of the moto in mid-pack, his grit and consistency prevailed.

450 MOTO 1 RESULTS
Jett Lawrence is still unstoppable.
Dylan Ferrandis gets off to the early lead in Moto 1, followed by top qualifier Jett Lawrence along with Chase Sexton in third and Jason Anderson in fourth. After just the first five minutes of racing, Jett Lawrence was able to find the optimal line over Dylan Ferrandis as they headed up horsepower hill, where Lawrence was able to get a run up on Dylan and make a pass to the inside once reaching the top of the hill.
Throughout the moto, Jett Lawrence, once to the lead, set his sail on the checkered flag. Behind him battles Dylan Ferrandis and Chase Sexton, where Dylan is able to hold off the push from behind. Around the 15-minute mark of the race, Chase was able to gain momentum on Ferrandis down the hill, headed into the S- turn passed, and passed him on the outside line. Midway through the moto, it shows two-stroke rider Carson Brown in 14th place. Making him the highest-ranked two-stroke in the 450 class and making the availability of the prize money just a little more obtainable.
Ty Masterpool runs another consistent moto comfortably seated between Adam Cianciarulo and Aaron Plessinger in sixth place. Ty has had an unbelievable season this year and continues with his momentum into Moto Two with another great result. Ty, through this season, has been extremely consistent right around the fifth and sixth position; this comes after moving up from the 250 class earlier this season.
