Coty Schock grabbed the holeshot on his Club MX Yamaha YZ450F, but it was Jorge Prado who quickly got around him after a few turns with Justin Cooper in third. Chase Sexton was buried around 15th place, while Jett was near the top five on lap one before he went down right before the finish. Jett got up in 18th and put on a hard charge to the front.
Justin Cooper passed Jorge Prado just after the halfway mark for the lead. Jorge Prado held second place until just over 10 minutes to go when Jett Lawrence got around him, and Chase Sexton quickly passed him at the same time. Jett came all the way from 18th early to get into second place after just twenty minutes of racing, only four seconds behind Justin Cooper. Then, Jett made quick time to catch and pass Justin Cooper with six minutes still left on the clock.
Chase Sexton made his way through the pack behind Jett, and he passed Justin Cooper for second with just over two laps to go. Then, shortly after getting into the number two spot, he pushed the front end into a soft sand berm and went down just before the finish line. He got up in fourth place as Justin Cooper and Hunter Lawrence got around him.

Hunter Lawrence got off to a good start with R.J. Hampshire and Jorge Prado behind him. Jett was fourth, but passed into third quickly and Antonio Cairoli was up front early as well, but he dropped back quickly to the tenth place range. Aaron Plessinger made his way into third after a few laps, but then he came under fire from Beat Mode, Eli Tomac, who snatched the last podium spot away from the number seven. Then, just past the halfway point, Eli Tomac’s YZ450F started to overheat and eventually it let go, and he had to relinquish his podium spot back to Plessinger. Then, R.J. Hampshire and Justin Cooper pressed forward to take third and fourth, while Plessinger slipped back.
Hunter Lawrence led for a few laps, but eventually he was passed by his brother, who slowly pulled away to a 16-second lead at the finish ahead of his brother.
