GLEN HELEN’S ALL-NEW OFFROAD TRUCK TRACK TO DEBUT THIS WEEKEND WITH THE LUCAS OIL SERIES

With the Lucas Off Road Truck Series at Glen Helen this weekend, the teams had already moved in to get ready for Friday practice. To the right of this photo is the EVOC paved course and to the left are the Glen Helen motocross tracks.

The full scope of how large the Lucas Oil track is can be seen in this photo. The grandstands in the center of the photo seat 5000 people. The semi-trucks take up not only the AMA Pro pits but also the complete motorcycle spectator parking lot, the minicycle track and are starting to encroach into the amateur pits. And these are just the racers?the fans don’t come until Saturday afternoon

These photos were shot on Friday. Saturday and Sunday afternoon are when the races start.

Glen Helen Raceway, globally recognized as the hub of West Coast motocross racing culture, will host its first Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series event, August 7th and 8th. Nestled at the foot of the San Gabriel Mountains in Northern San Bernardino, the 256-acre facility has been the scene of numerous AMA National and international motocross and offroad racing events over its 25 year history. For motorcycle racers, Glen Helen will still be open for riding?and the regular Saturday REM race will be held this weekend.

In contrast to the scenic hill side setting, Glen Helen provides a unique, purpose-built, eight-tenths of a mile short course offroad battlefield that features a triple table top section, high banked turns and aggressive rhythm sections. Rounds 9 &10 of the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series at Glen Helen Raceway, features two full evenings of electrifying two- and four-wheel drive short course off road racing action.
