MXA VIDEO: WE TEST A YAMAHA YZM500 TWO-STROKE “MONSTER”
WE TEST BRC RACING’S YZM500 TWO-STROKE “MONSTER”
This Yamaha YZM500 two-stroke started life as a 2008 YZ250 Facebook marketplace clunker. Jarrett King brought the bike and began the build with help from Ian Bradley of House of Honda, and they installed BRC Racing’s new 500cc two-stroke engine into this Yamaha chassis. Since we had Glen Helen all to ourselves, Kory Kinal, the driver of the Jekyll and Hyde Monster Truck for the 2X Monster Trucks Live Tour, joined us for a drag race exhibition. We put a Monster Truck and a 500cc two-stroke side-by-side in the most famous turn in motocross, Glen Helen’s Talladega first turn. Sit back and enjoy the sights and sounds of this full-scale Monster truck and this YZ500 shredding at Glen Helen, and stick around for the details on this build.
