THE HANGTOWN HITTERS: 450 CLASS

RYAN DUNGEY
Ryan Dungey is no doubt going to be the man to beat this outdoor season. The stars have aligned again for Ryan. He’s got the bike that “The Man” (Roger DeCoster) and he have been developing over the  past few years. He’s a hard worker. He’s positive, confident, fit and experienced. Those are the characteristics that make a champion.

KEN ROCZEN
The number one on Kenny’s back is going to make him a huge target. The pressure is on Ken. Luckily, he has dealt with it before and has had some time off to relax. He will be rested up, which is good, but his rivals have the competitive edge of being sharper from racing against each other while Ken was on the sidelines.

JASON ANDERSON
Jason is most intense rider on the track. He is driven to do good in his rookie season in the 450 class. His intensity caused him to push too hard during the Supercross season. If he harnesses his energy and smooths out he can get on the box.

BLAKE BAGGETT
Well Blake, you got through the full Supercross season and the outdoors is finally here. This is where you can shine. Although an uinknown entity on a 450, Blake has always been a serious threat when the sun shines. He’s 100% healthy and he should be happy with how 2015 has gone so far.

ELI TOMAC
Eli has more talent in his pinky finger than most people have ever dreamed of. But, he lost the Supercross Championship because he lost focus in the simple turns? Never take anything for granted on a racetrack. If Eli shows up with his game face on he will be a serious threat to be the Champion at seasons end.

WESTON PEICK
Weston is the wild card in the 450 lineup. You can’t bet against the guy. He’s paid his dues in the privateer ranks to get to where he is today. Now he needs to channel five years of frustration into the big payday. We hope he gets in the mix because he’s the most original guy on the track.

CHRISTOPHE POURCEL
It’s strangely odd that Christophe is not at Team Kawasaki, but Husqvarna was smart to sign Christophe for the 2015 outdoor season. He may be a “crafty Frenchman,” but he also a moody Frenchman. If he’s happy with his bike, likes the Rockstar team management and wants to go fast — he will be amazing. The question mark is whether he’s in tip-top enough shape to hang on to a 450 for 30+2. Last year he wasn’t very strong at the end of the 250 motos — although he did win a National. We want Christophe to be a player — the sport needs him.

Ernesto Fonseca, the factory Honda and Yamaha rider from Costa Rica, was paralyzed in a testing accident in 2006. He won the 125 East Coast Supercross Championship in 1999 aboard his Yamaha of Troy YZ125. There is no doubt that “The Fonz” has had some tough times since the accident. The picture above speaks louder than words. A champions heart can never be broken.

The tire to the left is a Dunlop MX32. The tire to the right is a prototype hard pack tire that Dunlop is developing. A few riders were running the secret tread at the Vegas Supercross.

DREAM JOBS: D’COR VISUALS DANNY DOBEY

STARTING POINT: “I was like many of us in this industry, a racer. I worked at a motocross shop in San Diego. I was approached by Mark Mcperry from JT for a sales job. I stayed there for 7 years and ended as the sales manager. I learned a ton and meet my future business partner Marc Blanchard. We both loved moto but wanted to do something else. Marc partnered up with Ludo and myself, starting One Industries. After ten years at One we sold it. I recognized a void for someone who understood graphics the way I do. So my new company “D’Cor Visuals  is now here!”

THE JOB: “You name it, we do it. We are a small company. Everyone here has multiple roles. This also forms a great camaraderie and appreciation for what we do and the accomplishments we achieve. There are so many awesome parts to being in the industry. Obviously number one is that my job is also my passion!
