THE MXGP SERIES HAS TWO RACES TO GO: COENEN, HERLING, FEBVRE & LAEGENFELDER STILL FIGHTING

Lucas Coenen (96) is running out of races if he wants to catch Romain Febvre.

In the first round of the three-week run-up to the end of the 2025 MXGP series! KTM’s Jeffrey Herlings was second to Lucas Coenen in first 450 moto, but took the second moto win for his 111th Grand Prix win. Coenen is chasing surpass Kawasaki’s Romain Febvre for the 450 Championship, but with Febvre finishing third overall, his points lead over Lucas is 26 with two races to go.

The 250 class was a wild race, with Simon Laengenfelder taking the overall victory ahead of current 250 World Champion Kay de Wolf. Laengenfelder’s teammate, Sacha Coenen, took third overall after winning moto one. Suprisingly the Austrian brands won all of the motos in Turkey with four different riders

Jeffrey Herlings said, “The 450 race was really good, better than I could have expected. Obviously, we’re quite high here, so we had to change some things on the bike, but it was all positive. I think our bike was really, really good throughout the weekend, so shout out to KTM for providing me with such a good bike. I went 2-1 today to take the overall victory. I’m looking forward to China next weekend. Two more GPs to go, I want to finish this year as strong as I can.”

Sacha Coenen (19) won the first moto of the 250 Grand Prix of Turkey, but was fourth in the second moto.
