THIS WEEK IN MXA WITH JOSH & JOSH: IS MOTOCROSS GETTING SOFT?
This Week in MXA really encompasses several weeks of non-stop action with Josh Mosiman and Josh Fout diving into the exciting racing from the 2025 High Point National and the intense thunder and lightning storm that caused the red flag in 450 moto two. Plus, they talk about the high temperatures at the Hangtown National, where the AMA shortened the second moto to 25-minutes instead of 30-minutes and what the difference in math is between a Pro National and the typical amateur motocross race. Of course, the stars of the past, who raced 45-minute motos, while pitting out of a box van minus the advantages of a factory semi-truck’s air conditioned lounge, aren’t all that sympathetic.
Plus, the two Joshs look ahead to the upcoming Vet Mammoth Motocross race this weekend and the Pro classes next weekend. We hate to say it, but we have been on a whirlwind tour of races and events. It started for us on May 15 for the “Stopwatch National” at Glen Helen, then two days later, we were back at Glen Helen for the humongous $100,000 MotoFest race, followed by the Pala National on May 24 and when Pala ended, Josh Mosiman flew to Italy to test the 2026 Ducati Desmo450 on May 27, before catching a flight back to California on May 30 to get to the Hangtown National on June 1. We skipped racing at the Thunder Valley National on June 8, but instead went to the “3Bros 10-day Endurance race” at Glen Helen. Finally, there was a one week break in the AMA 250 National schedule between Mt. Morris and Southwick on June 29, but we filled that free weekend up by sending the MXA Vet riders to race at the Mammoth Mountain Motocross on June 20-21, while the rest of the gang stayed at home and raced the “Saturday at the Glen” race on June 21 and then Josh and Josh went back to Mammoth Mountain for the Pro races June 27-29. It’s been hectic!
