With more than two-thirds of the AMA National season done, there are only five riders left in the 450 class with a mathematical chance of winning the 2013 AMA 450 National Championship. Since a rider can earn 50 points max per race, with only three races left the total number of point available is 150. That means that any rider who is 150 points or more behind points leader Ryan Villopoto’s 413 points is out of the running.

The five riders left who still have a remote chance of winning the 450 National Championship are Villopoto (413 points), Dungey (-34 points), Justin Barcia (-106), James Stewart (-144) and Trey Canard (-150). You might note that Trey Canard is on the bubble and since series points ties are determined by race wins, Canard is actually out of the running.

Chad Reed is more than five full races behind Ryan Villopoto with three races to go..

The eliminated 450 riders include Mike Alessi (-218), Andrew Short (-222), Jake Weimer (-229), Broc Tickle (-230), Josh Grant (-237), Malcolm Stewart (-252) and Chad Reed (-269). Only 48 riders have earned 450 points so far this year.

WHO’S OUT OF THE 250 CHAMPIONSHIP?

Ken Roczen lost 28 points at Millville. That shows you how the tides of war can change with one crash.

With 150 maximum points left in the 250 Nationals, Eli Tomac leads Ken Roczen by 27 point with three races to go. Just as in the 450 class, there are five riders who still have a mathematical chance of being the 2013 AMA 250 National Champion.

Those five riders are Tomac (405 points), Roczen (-27 points), Marvin Musquin (-71), Blake Baggett (-110) and Zach Osborne (-144).

Darryn Durham is 278 points behind Eli Tomac with only 150 total points left in the series.

Riders who had a mathematical chance going into Millville, but were eliminated there are Jason Anderson (-167), Justin Bogle (-196), Jeremy Martin (-220), Kyle Cunningham (-222) and Cooper Webb (-235).

Riders who were aced out before Millville include Justin Hill (-235), Cole Seely (-236), Darryn Durham (-278), Martin Davalos (-291), Will Hahn (-308) and Adam Cianciarulo (-316). Only 43 riders have earned 250 points so far this year.
