2025 SUPERMOTOCROSS POINTS (AFTER ROUND 1 OF 3)
2025 SUPERMOTOCROSS POINTS (AFTER ROUND 1 OF 3)
It was an interesting day of racing to say the least. During the first 450 moto, the wind visibly picked up on the track, making conditions difficult for riders to navigate. A large storm cell moved in with heavy rain and lightning. Because of this, the first moto scores were announced as the overall would be based on the first moto scores. In the 250 class, Haiden Deegan had a come-from-behind win, starting the race in seventh and catching up to Seth Hammaker in the final few laps, passing for the win. In the 450 class Jett Lawrence was able to grab the holeshot and lead from start to finish. Hopefully, the weather will clear up and we can get back to normal racing next week in St. Louis.

450 POINT STANDINGS AFTER SMX ROUND ONE CHARLOTTE
Chase Sexton stayed consistent and capitalized on a crash by Eli Tomac to grab second in the first round and set himself up well for next weekend in St. Louis.
The day started out well for Sexton as he was able to grab the fastest qualifying time early in the day. The track was difficult and quickly deteriorated, which led to many crashes throughout the day. When Moto One started, it was Jett Lawrence who put himself out front early with Tomac, Roczen, and Sexton following. Sexton was able to battle into third, where he gave chase to Tomac. Tomac would end up going down, surrendering the position to Sexton. Jett Lawrence would lead start to finish and never look back.

Jo Shimoda would go down battling for the lead in his moto.
Seth Hammaker would grab the holeshot, followed by Jo Shimoda, who was applying pressure early. Within the first few laps, Shimoda went for the pass and was pinched off by Hammaker in a racing incident. Shimoda would clip the tough block, which sent him to the ground. Haiden Deegan would start around seventh and start making his way forward as each lap passed. Deegan would eventually move into second, where he had a twelve-second deficit.
