250 RACE RESULTS // 2024 IRONMAN NATIONAL (UPDATED)
250 RACE RESULTS // 2024 IRONMAN NATIONAL
The dust has already settled in the 250 Championship and it’s Haiden Deegan who’s already wearing the red number one plate on his Star Racing Yamaha YZ250F, and somehow the 250 class is still lined up to be an exciting one to watch. With the post-season SMX playoff races coming up in just two weeks, Haiden doesn’t want to let off the gas and let his competitors gain any extra confidence and momentum.
Tom Vialle is a two-time MX2 Champion in the MXGP series, and he won the Southwick National last year and the 250SX East Championship this year, but he’s without a win so far outdoors and is looking to change that today. Plus, Ken Roczen has dropped down for a one-off 250 race today and he’s looking to have some fun with the young guns on his RM-Z250 today after qualifying second overall on times.

250 OVERALL RESULTS
Haiden Deegan secured the Championship last weekend at Budds Creek and went 11-1 for fourth overall today at Ironman.
Tom Vialle got the holeshot with Max Anstie pressuring him for it on his Star Racing Yamaha. Chance Hymas was right there on the start, too. Unfortunately, Levi Kitchen crashed and got his leg caught under his bike and tweaked it early in moto two and pulled off the track to get it checked out.
Halfway through the moto, Tom Vialle led with Haiden Deegan all over his rear tire. They got side by side multiple times, and Tom was able to keep the new Champion behind him. Then, Tom made a mistake and Haiden got around him, and then Chance Hymas also got around him shortly after. Ryder Difrancesco was having the best moto of his career, running fourth with Hampshire behind him. Ken Roczen was seventh with six and a half minutes to go. RJ then passed RyderD with just under six minutes to go. With just over two minutes on the clock, RJ Hampshire passed Tom Vialle for third place. Chance went 6-2 for second and RJ 4-3 for third.

250 MOTO 1 RESULTS
Tom Vialle got out front early and led every lap.
Haiden Deegan had the very inside gate with Tom Vialle and Ken Roczen right next to him on the line. Haiden had a good start, but then he went down early on in the first lap and went all the way back to 35th. However, Haiden did not give up, mid-way through the race, he was logging faster lap times than Tom Vialle, who was leading. Ken Roczen was impressive off the start, too, he was fifth around the first turn and went back and forth early, dropping to seventh and then moving up past Ty Masterpool for fourth. Chance Hymas was second and Jordon Smith third until 12 minutes to go when Jordon got around the HRC Honda rider. At the same time, Ty Masterpool got around Ken Roczen for fourth. Unfortunately for Ken, the second half of the race didn’t go his way and he started to lose ground to the front runners. He was in ninth with two laps to go.
Levi Kitchen was passed by Roczen early in the moto and was battling with his teammate Ty Masterpool, but he picked up steam mid-way through the moto and made his way to second place, 6-seconds behind Vialle with a lap to go. Jordon Smith passed Chance Hymas to earn his first moto podium of the season.
