250 OVERALL QUALIFYING RESULTS | 2021 REDBUD NATIONAL

Finally, it’s that time of the year we get to watch Motocross and celebrate one of the most important days in our nation’s history all in the same weekend. From Lorocca’s Leap to questionably long mullets, RedBud is one of the races you simply can’t miss. And as we get started in Buchanan, Michigan, the 250 class is up first to set their fastest lap times. So far this season, Justin Cooper has remained to be consistently the faster rider around the track similar to the 2021 Supercross season. However, it is Jett Lawrence, the younger of the two Lawrence brothers, who sits on the top pedestal of the points championship. With an 11 point lead on Justin, it still appears that this may be a Jett Lawrence – Justin Cooper championship as third place sits all the way back more than 30 points behind second place. But with Motocross, more points can be earned at each round allowing plenty of riders the opportunity to give a run at the red plate if they can place well enough.

250 OVERALL QUALIFYING RESULTS

Hunter Lawrence had a difficult High Point weekend but qualified well heading into RedBud.

Jalek Swoll was the first of the 250 riders to set a fast lap time in the second qualifying session with teammates Stilez Robertson and Rj Hampshire just behind. Eventually, Jett Lawrence shot up to the top of the leaderboard but still set a lap time just one second slower than Jo Shimoda’s from the first qualifying session. Justin Cooper grabbed the fastest overall qualifying time on the third lap with a 2:06.1. Colt Nichols moved up to the fourth place spot with Michael Mosiman in fifth place. Once again, Justin Cooper would fastest.

250 FIRST QUALIFYING SESSION RESULTS

It’ll be difficult to take away the top spot from Justin Cooper in qualifying.

The first round of qualifying took and it was Jo Shimoda who was first to run the fastest lap time amongst the 250s. Rj Hampshire wasn’t far behind however as the Rockstar Husqvarna rider sat just a second back. Hunter Lawrence chased in the third place spot with Michael Mosiman in fourth. By the third lap, Justin Cooper was already making his way up the ranks, moving into third place with a 2:07.6, moving past the Lawrence brothers in fourth and fifth place. It was Jo Shimoda who remained to be the fastest in the first qualifying session.
