250 OVERALL RACE RESULTS | 2021 REDBUD NATIONAL

The 250 class is ready for another round of Pro Motocross and the current stop of the 2021 outdoors tour is one of our most anticipated stops, RedBud MX. In qualifying, we saw Justin Cooper once again grab the fastest lap time amongst the 250 field. At this point, you should be placing your bets on the 32 for fastest lap times because it seems like there’s no slowing down for the Star Yamaha rider. We also saw an impressive performance by Jo Shimoda and Jett Lawrence to round out the podium for the fastest lap times and we can’t wait to witness the gate drop. So scroll down below to find out where the 250 field places in the motos and stay tuned to Motocross Action for all the action brought to you LIVE from the races.

250 OVERALL RACE RESULTS

Michael Mosiman and Derek Kelley had a gnarly crash in the first turn.

Michael Mosiman and Derek Kelley had a bad get-off as the second moto started while Justin Cooper grabbed the holeshot. Moto 1 winner Jett Lawrence sat all the way back in 20th place. While Justin Cooper led the race, Jeremy Martin and Rj Hampshire chased in second and third with former Star Yamaha rider, now privateer, Ty Masterpool running in fourth. Jett Lawrence crashed heading up one of the hills and was sent backward in the pack. Rj Hampshire became successful on the pass for second place with 25 minutes remaining.

Halfway through the race, Rj made the pass on Justin for the lead. Stilez Robertson went down after chasing Jeremy Martin and fell back to seventh place. Rj Hampshire made a mistake with three minutes remaining, letting Justin Cooper by for first place. After being sent back over 30 positions, Jett Lawrence had now found himself in eighth place. Justin Cooper would win the race, Rj would get second, and Jeremy Martin would get a silent third place. This means that Rj would be your 250 overall winner.

250 MOTO 1 RACE RESULTS

All of the 250s were cautious around the massive Larocco’s Leap.

The first moto took off and it was Justin Cooper who grabbed the holeshot. The pack was tight as they rounded the first few turns and the Lawrence brothers chased in second and third. Rj Hampshire bobbed and weaved, making his way past Hunter Lawrence and setting his eyes on Jett. Within the first lap, Rj made the pass on Jett and Justin Cooper crashed going over the finish line. Rj now led the race with Jett less than a second behind.

Jeremy Martin who had broken multiple fingers made his way back into the races and raced in fourth place just behind Hunter Lawrence. Jett Lawrence closed the gap on the turn before Larocco’s Leap but wasn’t able to be successful in the passing attempt. At 21 minutes remaining, Rj tipped over in a rut, allowing the 18 to make a pass. When Justin Cooper was found on the ground, he moved all the way back to ninth place. At 16 minutes remaining, Justin made his way all the way back to fifth place and Rj Hampshire made his way back on Jett’s rear fender.

However, it wasn’t long until Rj, unfortunately, found himself on the ground in a deep rut again. Luckily for Rj, he only lost one position in the race. Justin eventually made his way past his teammate Jeremy Martin and then sat in fourth place with eight minutes remaining. With 5 minutes left, Rj had already made another comeback making passing attempts on Hunter Lawrence. With three laps remaining, Rj made the pass on Hunter and closed the gap on Jett. Jett would win the first moto.
