JASON ANDERSON INJURED: OUT FOR 2021 THUNDER VALLEY NATIONAL & MORE

Jason Anderson was quick at the Fox Raceway season opener and looked like he had great potential for podium finishes coming up soon. His 10th place in the first moto didn’t reflect the speed we saw from him during media day and qualifying, but his fourth in 450 Moto 2 showed that Jason came to play this summer. Sadly, Jason’s chain broke off a jump on Thursday while preparing for Round 2 of the AMA Nationals at Thunder Valley and caused him to break his hand and lose a few teeth. Read below for a statement from Jason and from his Husqvarna team manager.

Husqvarna: Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing’s Jason Anderson has sustained a broken hand following a practice crash that took place earlier today in his home state of New Mexico. Anderson is expected to miss six to eight weeks of the 2021 AMA Pro Motocross Championship, beginning with this Saturday’s Thunder Valley MX National in Lakewood, Colorado.

Jason Anderson: “bummed to say that I will not be making it this weekend. Started my first Moto this morning at practice and off of a jump my chain snapped,,, something completely out of my control . I broke my hand and knocked some teeth out 😩 I gotta get it all handled on Monday (recovery timeline) and I will be back racing these outdoors at the end of the season. Sorry to my team and all the supporters but damn 2021 been a rough year for me .. let’s end this s*** on a good note though!”

Stephen Westfall, Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing Team Manager: “It’s very unfortunate that Jason had a crash while practicing today, resulting in a broken right hand. We wish him a speedy recovery and look forward to having him back to the races ASAP.”
