TEAM TESTED: RINSEKIT MOBILE PRESSURE WASHER

WHAT IS IT? The RinseKit is a mobile, pressurized, portable shower/clean-up system that holds up to 2 gallons of water. It comes with a spray nozzle, 6-foot hose, hose-bib adapter, on/off valve and quick-connect. It doesn’t need batteries or pumps and produces a pressurized spray for up to four minutes.

WHAT STANDS OUT? Here’s a list of things that stand out with the RinseKit.

(1) Performance. The RinseKit can be used to clean helmets, chest protectors, number plates and tools. With seven different settings, the RinseKit is gentle enough to be used on children as a mobile shower. We used it to rinse down the MXA wrecking crew’s offspring before putting them back in the truck after a long day of playing in the dirt. With only 2 gallons of water at your disposal, unless you have a garden hose with water pressure to refill the unit, it’s not much of a bike washer. It does offer strong water pressure, though, and maintains its water pressure for a long time.

(2) Use. The RinseKit is built like a small ice chest. The exterior is a molded plastic box with a locking lid and a plastic carry handle. It is strong enough to be used as an extra seat at the track when not in use (with the hose stored inside). The interior has a braided line connected with a garden-hose spray nozzle. You have four minutes of spray time with pressure that is comparable to an average garden hose. To refill the RinseKit, you plug the quick-connect adapter into the end of a water faucet. Be careful, because the plastic adapter is easy to lose or break; be gentle handling the plastic nipple. It is a good idea to drain the RinseKit completely every 15 uses for optimal performance.

(3) Size. The RinseKit is 1 foot, 2 inches wide by 1 foot, 5 inches long. The empty unit weighs 9 pounds, and filled up it weighs 24 pounds. With its compact size and weight, you can tuck it in a small area of your vehicle.

WHAT’S THE SQUAWK? Two quibbles. (1) Two gallons isn’t enough water to tackle any major cleaning jobs. (2) The plastic adapter needs to be more durable.

MXA RATING: Two gallons of water is not enough to wash a bike; however, the RinseKit is perfect for cleaning up after a moto or doing those little jobs that just need a quick spritz.
