FELD ANNOUNCES CBDMD AS EXCLUSIVE CBD SPONSOR OF SUPERCROSS
FELD ANNOUNCES cbdMD AS EXCLUSIVE CBD SPONSOR OF 2020 MONSTER ENERGY SUPERCROSS SEASON
Coming into the 2019 AMA Supercross season Dean Wilson had a new CBD oil sponsor with Dan Bilzerian’s company Ignite. Not long after, Chad Reed had a CBD sponsor as well with cbdMD. On Friday, February 15th 2019, the day before the Arlington Supercross, the AMA announced a new rule to ban the promotion of CBD signage on Supercross riders.
An excerpt from the AMA rule instated: “The law regarding CBD products, including their lawful sale, possession, advertising, and sponsorship of them, is unsettled. Not withstanding the change in federal law in December 2018, there are no federal regulations in place yet on how these products can be advertised or promoted. CBD and related products are not completely legal in all 50 states and there are various restrictions on their sale and promotion.”
At the 2019 Monster Energy Cup, we couldn’t help but notice the new cbdMD logos that were lining the track and that’s when we found out about the newest associate sponsor of the Monster Energy Supercross series. We aren’t aware of any changes in the sale of CBD products from February until today, but something has changed and now instead of being banned from Dean Wilson’s jersey and Chad Reed’s helmet, CBD banners are lining the tracks.

Chad Reed and Dean Wilson respond to the new rule by covering their CBD logos with giant CENSORED logos. In the end their new sponsors got more attention after being censored than they would have if they were just another regular logo.
