JUNE 11–GREAT OUTDOORS SPECIAL EDITION

There is no denying that No Fear’s Great Outdoors raised the bar for motocross videos. For years we’ve been stuck in a rut watching the same jump videos over and over again. Sure the locations changed and the antics got more over the top, but when you got right down to it, there just wasn’t much depth to them.

The Great Outdoors was different and what’s funny is originally everyone thought it would be a failure. Motocross video sales were slipping and who would want to watch a tape of the Nationals after they had already caught them on ESPN2 just one week after the race had actually happened? Nobody, right? You’re absolutely wrong.

The Great Outdoors sold great, and it did for one reason: it was really good! They could have used ESPN2 footage and created a corny National video, but instead they sent their own guys to every race to cover the action both on and off the track. Getting the race action was easy. There are 12 Nationals after all, consisting of 2 classes and 48 motos. However, the behind the scenes footage was a little harder to attain. Mechanics, Team Managers and riders were all interviewed to get their take on just about every facet of motocross.

The end result was over 300 hours of footage that made for the best motocross video since “On Any Sunday.”

Since the very successful release of “The Great Outdoors” there has been one complaint, it isn’t long enough. You’ll be happy to know that No Fear has now released “The Great Outdoors Special Edition” with over 2 hours of footage.

Don’t be mad if you already bought “The Great Outdoors” and you feel like you’re getting jipped by the later release of the Special Edition version. This trend has been going on forever in the DVD world and in most cases you are getting taken to the cleaners, but with No Fear’s Great Outdoors you aren’t. How can we say that? It’s easy,”The Great Outdoors Special Edition” is a completely new video. It doesn’t share any of the same footage or interviews.

Even you haven’t already bought “The Great Outdoors” you should, then after you’re done with that, you should go buy “The Great Outdoors Special Edition.” No real motocrosser’s video collection would be complete without both of them.
