MOTOCROSS ACTION MID-WEEK REPORT

#WHIPITWEDNESDAY

Broc Hepler 2009
Rider: Broc Hepler.

Broc gave a stylish whip back in 2007, but in the world of motocross racing, abrupt halts due to injuries are not uncommon. Broc had his own battles after a practice crash  knocked him out for six minutes. Broc experienced a new set of challenges when his concussion periodically left him disoriented, unsteady and clouded in his thoughts. Fortunately, years after the accident, we can find Broc doing off-road racing and still enjoying his motorcycle.

MXA’S MOTO SPOTLIGHT: THE NATIONALS ARE BACK THIS WEEKEND AT UNADILLA

”After a couple of weeks’ break, the Pro Motocross Series returns this weekend at the 2023 Unadilla National. This race track has a rich history in motocross, with its roots stretching back to 1969, making it older than even the inaugural  Pro Motocross Championship of 1972. The track’s unique layout flows naturally through the valley, giving some of the most distinctively named obstacles, such as Gravity Cavity, The Wall, and Skyshot.

Beyond its association with Pro Motocross, Unadilla has had a past of hosting notable events like the Inter-Am and Trans-Am competitions, as well as the USGPs during the 70s and 80s. Remarkably, between 1976 and 1991, this legendary track was the venue for five AMA 500 Nationals and proudly became the first-ever U.S. venue for the Motocross of Nations in 1987.

Unadilla’s design has been a notable factor in its global appeal. This is evident in the impressive fact that the track has celebrated ten international winners across various classes, including the 450 Class, 250 class, and 500 class. This record of international champions stands unmatched in AMA Pro Motocross history.
