WHAT’S IT DO?
For those who say that all motocross pants are the same, we have proof that it isn’t true. Although every pair of pants is made from nylon and thread, the No Fear Attack pant is something completely different. So different that it is a watershed design. How can we say that? That’s a no-brainer. How different are the pants you’re wearing right now from the pants you were wearing in 1996? Not much. They’re still made from nylon and have stretch panels and leather knees (okay, maybe they weren’t leather in 1996, but they were leather in 1986). While it’s true that the colors have changed over the years (What? No more day-glo orange?), pants from today aren’t all that different from what our fathers wore in the ’80s and ’90s.
ÿ
Not so with No Fear. The Attack pant broke the mold. Instead of being a single pant, the Attack pant is actually two pairs of pants. Much like the gear that hockey players wear, the Attack pant is comprised of a pair of shorts with pants underneath them. Now in its third year, the Attack pant has gone through a renovation for 2006, and the MXA test crew was anxious to see how much No Fear improved on a classic.

WHAT STANDS OUT?
Here’s a list of things that stand out with No Fear’s Attack pant.
ÿ
(1) Look. About the only complaint we ever had with the Attack pant was the lack of color choices. In the past, the Attack only came in two colors, both rather simple-looking. That can’t be said about this year’s line. The Attack is available in four colors: black, blue, gray and yellow. Trust us, none of them are simple-looking.
ÿ
(2) Fit. If you are a rider whose weight fluctuates with the seasons, you gotta love the sans-a-belt. It offers tremendous variation in sizing. The Attack’s sizing is spot-on, and the sans-a-belt almost makes it work one size smaller and larger.
ÿ
(3) Weight. The Attack pant has always been heavy. It had huge rubber logos, neoprene knees and heavy-duty nylon. For ’06, the rubber logos are smaller, the neoprene has disappeared, and the materials, well, they are still heavy-duty. The weight has gone down, but don’t think of the Attack as one of the new breed of featherweight pants. It’s got some heft to it.
ÿ
(4) Knees. Awesome. There is absolutely no binding when you move in the Attack. The neoprene that used to connect the top and bottom has been replaced with a mesh material that doesn’t fall apart like the neoprene used to. If you’re concerned about the leather on the Attack, don’t be. The No Fear has more than enough leather on its knees to fight off four-stroke heat.

ÿ
ÿWHAT’S THE SQUAWK?
About the only complaint that can be filed against the Attack pant is that it’s on the heavier side.
