• THE GREATEST DEAL IN MOTOCROSS! SUBSCRIBE TO MXA & GET $25 ROCKY MOUNTAIN CREDIT & A YEAR OF MX FUN

This is the cover of the August 2023 issue of  MXA. On the cover is Pro Circuit’s Yamaha YZ125 project bike and the 2023-1/2 GasGas’ MC450F Factory Edition.  Inside are full-length tests of the  2023 Honda CRF450WE Works Edition (not to mention the 2023-1/2 MC450F Factory Edition) and a retro test of the 1999 Suzuki RM250 two-stroke. We take a close-up look at the 1976 Yamaha OW25—a bike that has a unique history because before the start of the 1976 racing season, Yamaha pulled out of racing—leaving their American (and GP teams) to fire their veteran riders go and bring in three relatively unknown and lower-paid  youngsters. The three USA riders were Rick Burgett, Danny Turner and Bob Hannah. Additionally, the MXA wrecking crew headed to Japan for the Kamisu City Beach Race (with a side trip to the Honda Museum). There is so much more inside. Did we mention the indepth interview with Brian Deegan? You’ll never know how much you have missed if you don’t subscribe? Plus, you can subscribe without it costing you a cent!

Did you know that you can subscribe to MXA at absolutely no cost to you—because when you subscribe you receive a Rocky Mountain ATV/MC credit for $25 towards anything in their massive inventory. Plus, you will get all the content in the 12 monthly issues of Motocross Action magazine delivered to you home by a uniformed U.S. government employee. Don’t miss any more four-stroke tests, two-stroke tests, retro tests, race coverage, new tech or product tests….most of which never appear on the internet. And, don’t forget, the $25 credit from Rocky Mountain ATV/MC that will more than cover the cost of your subscription. To subscribe call (800) 767-0345 or Click Here

• THE TOP 20 IN COMBINED SUPERCROSS/NATIONAL POINTS WILL BE SEEDED INTO THE 2023 SUPERMOTOCROSS PLAYOFFS

Chase Sexton 2023 Washougal National-0898Chase Sexton (23) leads the SuperMotocross points with 590 total points.

The season ending, three-race, SuperMotocross Playoffs will pay out $5.5 million dollars, but to be eligible to race the Playoffs you have to finish in the top 20 in combined  Supercross and Motocross points (an additional ten riders in each class will be seeded into a Last Chance race that only advances two riders into the Playoff round). At this point, there are still three AMA Nationals to go before the final points tally is complete. Thus, the top 20 listed here, although accurate for the next two-weeks (during the break in the National series), they will not necessarily be accurate after the final AMA National. Additionally, several riders in the top 20 in both classes will not be racing the SuperMoto Playoffs because of injury—like Eli Tomac in the 450s and Jeremy Martin in the 250s. Plus, Jett Lawrence is in the top 20 in both the 450 and 250 classes—and he will not be racing in the 250 division.

Jett Lawrence 2023 Thunder Valley National-7950Jett Lawrence (18) is fifth in total combined points, based solely on his 450 Nationals points because he didn’t race any premier class Supercross events in 2023—only 250 West races.

• THE TOP TEN IN 250 & 450 POINTS

Jett Lawrence 2023 Washougal National-0224Jett Lawrence has a 95-point lead over Dylan Ferrandis in the 450 title chase heading to Unadilla. If Jett sweeps Unadilla, like he has every 450 race this season, he will have 450 points and the best that Ferrandis could earn is 44-points (if he went 2-2). That means that Jett would have a 101-point lead going into the final two rounds at Budds Creek and Crawfordsvile. And since there is only 100 points left to win in the final two rounds, Jett will be the Champion if he goes 1-1 in Unadilla.
